ARTIST BIO
Karla Kolb is a textile artist residing in Fauquier County, VA with her husband and two children. She is middle school fine arts educator. Karla is originally from New York City. She holds a B.A. in Art History/Studio Art from Fordham University and an M.S. Ed from the University of Pennsylvania. She uses her love of sewing and three dimensional soft sculpture to create autobiographical pieces that draw from her early experiences, some of which were traumatic in nature and her current experiences as a teacher. Her goal is to share these pieces with other people, specifically women, who have shared similar experiences. She would like to create a dialogue that would foster healing and ideas to promote change in how women view themselves.
